CLEAR TIDES is a campaign to help join the fight against marine debris in our oceans. Beginning on Eyre Peninsula, South Australia, we aim to educate the public, through a beach clean up, marine debris art competition, educational talks and social media awareness on how we can help to reduce marine debris in our oceans. We will be sharing our knowledge on sustainable, environmentally friendly alternatives that are available which are not single use. We are excited to launch this campaign as a part of SALT festival in Port Lincoln, South Australia from the 21-29th of April, 2017. We would love to see your support for our campaign, by using the hashtag #ClearTides on Social Media, whenever you see marine debris or rubbish on the beach, or pick up trash on your own wherever you may be. As a follow on from our “Clear Tides” Beach Clean Up, we will be sorting all collected rubbish into different origins, this rubbish is then open to entrants to get creative and create a piece of art using the rubbish and marine debris collected from our foreshore. It is entirely up to you what you create, local artists will be assisting and also judging the winners. We are passionate about joining the fight against marine debris, helping to keep our beaches, and oceans cleaner, and to inspire a plastic free movement locally, and internationally.
