This one-day workshop is designed for community builders, civic leaders, local entrepreneurs and community development personnel who want to discover more about the processes and skills involved in building strong and entrepreneurial communities and local economies within rural and remote Australia. Such a learning experience will centre on sharing practical examples, tools and ideas for revitalising communities in challenging times. Through exciting stories, frameworks, exercises and lots of humour, this Workshop will focus on: • An understanding of the changes and opportunities occurring in rural Australia. • An awareness of the processes involving in mobilising community wide support for positive change. • Exposure to a set of amazing small town reinvention stories across Australia, New Zealand and North America. • An introduction to a set of community and enterprise development tools and resources. • Opportunity to reflect on the application of the approaches and tools within Workshop participant communities.
