Jeff Bridges has had a career on the screen with films ranging from Tron, The Big Lebowski through to The Fisher King, Iron Man and True Grit. Bridges won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in Crazy Heart in 2010.
Bridges has been a photographer in his words “since high school” but took it up seriously again on the set of King Kong in 1976. He uses a Widelux camera which has a ratio similar to a movie screen which gives his work a cinematographic quality. In 2003, he published a book of his work called “Pictures” and was acknowledged for his Widelux photography by the International Centre of Photography’s Infinity Award in 2013.
The Jeff Bridges Photography Archive has been in contact with SALT through the evolution of the festival and after seeing the SALT website and festival setting, proposed works taken from the 1996 Ridley Scott film White Squall.
