SALT PRESENTS JON BENNETT’S STORY TELLING WORKSHOP
Jon Bennett
Experience a short storytelling performance with a Q&A and special guests followed by a workshop by professional touring comedian and storyteller Jon Bennett (Fire in the Meth Lab, Pretending Things are a Cock, How I Learned to Hug, The Moth Mainstage in New York).
The (loose) aim of the workshops is to leave attendees with an idea for a story or show of their own, the framework for that show along with knowledge of how to take your show on the road. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to create and tell a 5 minute story of their own. The workshop will be interactive and geared around the ideas and intentions of the attendees.
Topics covered in the Workshop plus a Q&A:
Finding a story:
-Learn methods to mine for stories from your past experiences.
-“Virginity Story”
-Find out how to structure your story in a way that will keep your audience engaged.
Structuring your story:
– Using silence

– Bookending your story
