The SALT Festival is hosting the launch of The Superpower Transformation: Making Australia’s Zero-Carbon Future, a new publication edited by Professor Ross Garnaut.
Professor Ross Garnaut will outline the book’s practical plans to turn Australia into an economic superpower of a post-carbon world. Professor Garnaut presents new evidence that stronger and earlier action on climate change would be good for jobs and incomes, including in the old gas and coal communities and in rural and regional Australia. The new book covers electricity, hydrogen, steel, exports, carbon capture in the landscape and more. It reveals the rich endowments of five resources that give us the most to gain economically: ‘The new opportunities are much larger than the old.’
The event will include a special presentation by Tom Cheesman, Campaign Manager of The Elliston Solution Working Group. Tom will outline how Eyre Peninsula’s immense renewable energy resources can provide water and energy security for local communities, South Australia, and the nation.
Presentations will be followed by a Q&A with the audience, light refreshments, and a networking session.
Tickets are free, don’t miss this incredible opportunity to hear from Ross Garnaut.
